Aide Fitch practical assistance with green building strategies

Aide Fitch, RA, LEED AP

Aide is a registered architect who has been working in the field of green architecture for over 12 years. She has sustainably designed at different scales, from neighborhood planning and commercial development, to home and product design. Aide has worked for many visionaries in the field, including Gail Vittori and Pliny Fisk of the Center for Maximum Potential Building Systems, Doug Farr, author of Sustainable Urbanism, and building researchers at the US Army Corps of Engineers. Aide is a licensed architect, LEED Accredited Professional, has a dual Masters degree in Architecture and Structural Engineering from the University of Illinois, and a professional firefighter certification. She has hands-on experience in Life Cycle Assessment and Energy Modeling. She has helped develop a web-based building performance modeling tool (see www.CloudForestSoftware.com), and continues to provide consulting to building project teams through CloudForest.

Aide managed the entire sustainable design process and LEED Gold rating and provided community outreach presentations regarding local environmental impacts. Her work included providing substantial input in the design process from the very beginning during Programming and site design, production of specifications and building details, and assisting with construction administration. The green design boasts a 1 million gallon rainwater harvesting system, innovative ecological stormwater management system, and many other thoughtful green features.
